effortless vehicle sharing for fleets
Local Motion creates networks of shared electric vehicles with action-oriented mobility analysis to change the way people move locally.
Initially we focused on producing both a sharing platform and a low-cost electric vehicle specifically designed for share-ability. I designed and built a fully functioning prototype vehicle in just 3 months. To refine our focus, we pivoted away from vehicle production and started manufacturing telematics to connect existing fleets to our sharing platform.
The sharing platform enabled keyless access with corporate RFID badges, and provided fleet management and optimization tools. The user research, experience design, vehicle integration, and pilot program design were my key roles. Our first pilot was on 20 vehicles on Google's Mountain View campus.
